Frustrations can sometimes lead to great things. This was the case of Louder Than Life, which was formed as a result of managing director Tim Brain’s frustration over the delivery of a new set of Samba Surdo’s which he ordered.

LTL Drums is a company run by people who love music. We may have come from different orientations, but we have one thing in common, and that is our love for samba

The accomplishments of our company, as well as of the people behind LTL Drums, have only added to our reputation as a company that produces quality samba instruments and percussion instruments for music lovers the world over. Among our loyal customers are the various schools and music services within the United Kingdom, but we also welcome orders from individuals, companies and organisations.

LTL Drums mission to raise awareness of Samba drumming resulted in setting a Guinness world record at Oakwell Football ground on March 26, 2011 which is now hailed as the venue of the “World’s Largest Samba Band”. The 651 strong band who's age ranged from three to 70 played a 5 minute peice which was composed by Tim Brain.

Louder Than Life takes pride not only in producing world records, but also in being instrumental in encouraging children and adults alike to continue playing a range of instruments such as the Ganza, Tamborim and Repinique. We believe that the world would be a lot happier if everyone learns to appreciate music in general. This is the motivation that keeps our company going everyday, and we hope that we are able to pass on our enthusiasm for samba music to our customers.
